We are seeking a Sales Associate with strong communication and customer service skills who will listen to customers and help guide them in their hobby of bird feeding.
An opening is currently available for a Sales Associate to work 20+ hours per week. Weekday and weekend availability is required for consideration for this position.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Customer Interaction and Sales: Answering product questions for our customers and offering guidance to aid them with the backyard bird feeding hobby, as well as making sure they have a great experience shopping in our store! This includes using a point of sale computer system to ring sales, as well as carrying heavier products (20lb bags, pole pieces) out to the car for customers. Above all we want to create an engaging and informative customer experience!
Product and Hobby Knowledge: Becoming familiar with the array of products we carry so you can give customers informed and effective guidance is vital for all our team members. Employees should aim to build up a strong working understanding of our products and be willing to continually build and improve upon that knowledge base.
Managing Inventory: Stocking our showroom floor in a neat fashion is a crucial part of day to day operations as we sell items, as well as assisting in receiving shipments of product and organizing it in our storage areas.
MyWBU Online Store and Shipping: On top of our in-store sales, we have an active online business, especially during the holiday months, which requires interfacing with our online ordering portal and preparing orders for curbside/in-store pickup and shipping. Employees are expected to take part in putting together online orders, as well as packaging and preparing them in a neat fashion.
Candidate Skillset Considerations:
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· A willingness and ability to learn and improve
· Interest in nature/birds/bird feeding
· Flexible scheduling- weekend availability is required for this position
· Ability to lift and carry 20lb bags of seed for our customers
· Ability to spend extended periods of time on your feet helping customers
· A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
